Strictly speaking aluminium plates are aluminium dibond plates, that means it is a black plastic plate which is covered on both sides with an aluminium layer. This was then brushed on one side dull, to reach a very noble finish. Then we print our pictures directly onto this brushed aluminum layer. The cool part is that no white is printed here, i.e. all the white parts of the pictures remain transparent, so the metal from the background shimmers through. Especially pictures with quite high black and white contrasts are very impressive.
